Sizing For Your Bird

sizing

It is important that the FLYPER fits correctly. A FLYPER that is too BIG will have excess sagging fabric and the bird will hook its toes in the fabric on the sides. A FLYPER that is too SMALL will be tight and  uncomfortable with the straps probably digging into the birds shoulders. A FLYPER that is JUST RIGHT  should fit snugly allowing you to run your little finger between the garment and the bird.

Liner pouch to be positioned under the bird’s vent.

Size Chart

This size chart is to give an indication of what size FLYPER should be ordered for your bird.

This chart will give you a pretty accurate indication of what size to select for your bird.

Please note that birds even of the same species can vary in size according to age, health and weight. Should you have any queries regarding the size, we would suggest you WEIGH YOUR BIRD or measure the bird according to the 3 measurement drawings that we have provided on our website. Contact us with these measurements which must be noted according to the placement on the drawings. We will then assist you in selecting the correct size.

Using a ribbon or piece of string wrap, in front of the legs, under the wings , around the girth of the bird at the area just slightly above the base of the birds tail (DO NOT INCLUDE THE WINGS). This is the girth measurement we require. Then we need the measurement from the nape of the neck to the base of the tail (preen gland) and thirdly we need the measurement from the birds shoulder, under the body, through the legs to the vent. (Placement diagrams to be seen on the size chart section of the website).

Here is a basic size chart to assist you in making the correct choice for your bird but please do WEIGH AND measure and contact us for assistance if you feel to.. Exchanges can be made on incorrect sizes ordered but shipping costs will apply. Unfortunately BEVS BIRD BOUTIQUE CAN’T OFFER REFUNDS.

Flyper - Avian / Bird Diaper from Bev's Bird Boutique

GIRTH MEASUREMENTS should be taken around the body from just in front of the legs around the circumference to the area just above the base of the birds tail (this is where we have  our Flyper Velcro Closure).  Take this measurement with a piece of string (bird may be afraid of the tape measure) Then measure the piece of string.

  1. Placement per sketch as follows:

2. Measure from nape of neck to base of tail (preen gland) as per sketch

3. Measure from shoulder under birds body, through legs to vent
